Show Hunter Waitemata Hunter Derby - 23rd/24th February 2013

In the Hunter Derby classes horses will be marked on character
and exuberance in their round. The horses are encouraged to
show some expression, be athletic and to be daring. Balance,
straightness and a good jumping style are still important; a
combination of these will be rewarded.
For true American Hunter style, Tail jackets (Shad belly Hunter
Coats as they are called in the US) may be worn.Click here to view Hunter Derby rules.
Summer Series Results - Area Team Challenge 2/3 February 2013
Show Hunter Waitemata held their first Area Teams Challenge at their February show in 2012. Team Bay of Plenty took the honours in that first competition and they have once again taken the win this weekend at the second Area Teams Challenge event 2013. They go home with $1000 prize money to spend on Show Hunter in their region.
The event challenges a team of 6 riders to put up consistent placings over the weekend and is a culmination of points from each riders best 6 results. This year Bay of Plenty were 17 points ahead of second placed team Auckland who were 19 points ahead of third place getters Waikato. The teams challenge is a great event and it is fantastic to see team spirit abound in the form of team shirts, team colours flying proud and camaraderie between the members and competitors.
Area Teams Challenge Results
1st – Bay of Plenty: Charelle Marshall, Tracey Parnwell, Janet Eggleton, Tristan Thomas, Abbie Garwood, Mackenzie Barclay
2nd - Auckland: Kirsten Hence, Louise Luostari, Lynette Jackson, Sasha Kyd, Leeshelle Small, Lily Bruce
3rd - Waikato: Jordan Smythe, Fenella Skelton, Tayla Wilson, Joanna Troughton, Greg Jamieson, Drew Carson
